Young Scientists Academy - Summer 2016

Undergraduates Jillian Turner and Martin Alcantar served as research mentors to 5 local high school students this summer. Research projects this summer included: (1) Synthesis and characterization of an adhesive hydrogel; (2) synthesis of a sol-gel pH sensor; and (3) characterization of environmental tobacco smoke (ETS) using purge-n-trap coupled with gas chromatography/mass spectrometry.
